Mahela Jayawardane’s unbeaten (56) has helped Delhi Daredevils to get into the playoffs which is one step ahead to get into quarterfinals.

Chasing a small score of 137 in Ferozshah Kotla, Delhi Daredevils batsmen had a tough time chasing this small score, but eventually Mahela’s attacking shots gained the momentum to win the match.

Bowler Parvinder Awana was in full form with taking some important wickets of Virender Sehwag (8), Venugopal Rao (7) and Ross Taylor (0). His bowling certainly helped Kings XI Punjab to put pressure on Daredevils.

However, Awana’s day ended when Irfan Pathan (19) hit three boundaries in his last over which eased the pressure from Daredevils.

Earlier, Punjab’s innings were too under pressure with V Aaron (2/19) and Umesh Yadav (3/21) brilliantly bowled to Kings XI Punjab.  No batsmen except skipper David Hussey (40) added few scores for the team.

Even David Miller and Azhar Mahmood couldn’t fire much to add more scores on board.

With this win Delhi Daredevils have earned 20 points on IPL standing and is looking for more in playoffs match.
