Though Pakistan grabbed the series, but it couldn’t cleanly take away the series with full win. The spirited 10- wicket victory against Pak, India came back powerfully by restricting the team to 157 at Firoze shah Kotla ground in Delhi.
Initially, India had a bad start leading to score the lowest 167 all out in 43.4 overs. The opening pair still struggled to gain a good partnership. With Virender Sehwag left out due to injury, gave the chance to bring Ajinkya Rahane. However, change didn’t work with Rahane scoring just 4 runs, Gambhir on the other side scoring low.
However, Dhoni (36) and Raina (31) later did their best to take the score ahead and scoring 48-run partnership for the fifth wicket. The lower order batting also fell short in scoring runs, leading to lowest run score.
Pakistan bowlers presented better bowling department- with fast bowlers trapping Indian batsmen in tougher way. Both Junaid and Irfan tested Indian batsmen with short and fast deliveries and restricting the top order to lowest score.
However, Pakistan in the 2nd innings started very well by scoring 113-3, but later flew down reaching 125-6. Mohammad Hafeez who was dropped by Rahane proved costly taking the score ahead.
