As India is suffering a great set back in the recent loss against England, the Indian team is still facing the loss against Pakistan. The pathetic displayed continued when Pakistan beat the host by 85 runs in the second one-day match series in Kolkata.
Nasir Jamshed with his second consecutive century helped Pakistan to put 250 on the scoreboard. Though the team witnessed a downfall after scoring 141 for no loss, but still managed to cover the match by giving a competitive score to chase.
India’s struggle still continued in the 2nd ODI with openers Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag again failing to open scores, yet again putting pressure on middle order. Sehwag (31), Gambhir (11), Yuvraj Singh (9) and Suresh Raina (18) failed again to carry the score ahead. However, Skipper M.S Dhoni who scored 113 unbeaten in Chennai in the last inning again provided some resistance by scoring 54 unbeaten.
Indian batsmen were clearly bowled out against discipline bowling from Umar Gul and Junaid. Earlier, Jamshed (106) along with Hafeez put up 141 run-partnerships. However, Hafeez caught under part time spinner Jadeja.
With this win at the Eden Garden of Kolkata, Pakistan registered a win in the series by leading 2-0 in the 3 match of ODI series.
