Winning the toss and electing to field seem to have gone all wrong for Royal Challengers Bangalore caption Daniel Vettori as initially the bowling department couldn’t deliver the best which let them to face target of 166 and even batting department couldn’t work.
Kolkata Knight Riders had a flying start with openers Gautham Gambhir and Jacques Kallis scoring 60/0 in just 6 overs. However, RCB got back to the game as the Vettori wiped out the wicket of Kallis, but Gambhir and Manvinder Bisla took the game ahead.
Gambhir showed a great inning by scoring 64 in 39 balls but was taken away by Zaheer. Later, Zaheer also sent Manoj Tiwary back to pavilion that effected the run-rate. But till then the damage was done and KKR had a pretty decent score.
Zaheer Khan, Muralitharan and Vinay Kumar picked up couple of wickets, whereas Vittori and Patel managed to take one.
The RCB inning was so impressive even though having some great hitters in the team Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villers were sent back with mere scores.
From KKR bowling side, Balaji was the star who picked some major wickets restricting the RCB to short fall for the win. Vittori who was looking danger was also bowled by Balaji which was his fourth wicket in the inning.
With this win, KKR is back on the winning format and would surely look forward for such wins.
